- Book structure for fiction
April 1, 2020
20:00 - 22:00
How do you create a structure for your fiction book? How to start and what strategies can help you organize your material? The evening focuses on two ways of finding a structure for a fiction book or a book with fictional parts (e.g., autobiographical; factual book with stories). Those first way deals primarily with events and plot. The main concern is: What is happening? How do the events unfold? The second way deals primarily with characters. The main concern is: Who are your character(s)? Which personalities do they have, what motives are driving them and their actions? Both ways have their own strength and weaknesses and both ways can help you build flesh to the bones of your story – they help you see different things in your story.
The evening will combine theoretical impulses with practical advice. Writing coach Dr. Friederike Kunath gives hands-on tips for diving into the process of structuring your fiction book. You can also ask your questions and we will discuss them together.
